On Wednesday, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in his last meeting with President Hassan Rouhani and his cabinet that domestic projects should not be subject to Western company, underlining that it turned out during this administration that confidence in the West didn't work.
Gharibabadi pointed out to the Supreme Leader's stance on the West and especially the United States, saying that the American officials claim they are ready to return to their commitments under the nuclear agreement dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but their behavior does not support such an allegation.
The US authorities have said that their return to the JCPOA depends on potential future talks on regional issues, which are completely irrelevant to the nuclear negotiations, he said, adding that they also refrain from lift arms embargo, which is in violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
The American authorities do not want to lift sanctions against more than 500 Iranian people, who have been banned under the Trump administration's order based on irrelevant excuses concerning non-nuclear issues, he noted.
They also refrained from guaranteeing that the US administrations will not reiterate the Trump administration's behavior when it comes to abiding by the JCPOA, the ambassador stated, adding that they have not even accepted to discuss compensation for the US's unilateral withdrawal from the deal.
The Americans made excessive demands on Iran's nuclear activities and obligations, which have been fully rejected by the Iranian side, Gharibabadi mentioned.
Despite the fact that Iran proved it has kept its side of the bargain when it came to implementing the JCPOA, the US did not accepted that all problems come from the Americans' refusal to abide by the commitments and they have not yet accepted verification of their anticipated moves in this respect, he said.
Gharibabadi concluded that officials in Iran are not against a proper agreement, which leads to practical removal of sanctions.
